The construction at the sector 25, Gaushala, was initiated on the 15th of November 2008 and will be completed shortly.
The work undertaken includes the following:
1.Total flooring work of the Gaushalla that has been divided into 3 sections, measuring 12906 sq.ft.
2.Construction of new feeding troughs in all the 3 sections.
3.Connectivity between the first 2 sections through the passage behind the feeding troughs.
4.Extension of the 3rd section so that more space is made available to the cows. The new section also includes a bathing section for the cows.
5.A new drainage system has been made, connecting all the 3 sections. This will now facilitate the entire cleaning process and thus help in better management too.
6.2 fodder store rooms i.e. green & dry fodder have been constructed. These store rooms will now accommodate more fodder and the segregation will assist in better management.
7.A new section has been added to the existing Gaushalla. This includes doctor's room and cow sheds, with provision for water and fodder troughs. This has been constructed in a total area of 8494 sq.ft.
In addition to this the roof has been re-cemented, bird troughs have been placed and
electrical & plumbing work has also been undertaken. The landscaping will be undertaken once the entire construction work has been completed.
Re-opening of the 1st Section:
This section has been named after the first calf - KAJRI, that came to PFA Chandigarh (in 1997) for treatment. This was re-opened on the 27th of December 2008 and a small puja ceremony was also organized.
